How to Change an Image Background
Change Image Background places a transparent PNG cut-out on a new background. Choose a solid color such as studio white, cream, gray, navy, red, green or black, or pick your own color, or upload a background photo. You can drag, zoom, rotate and flip the cut-out and change its opacity until it fits.
It is handy for product pictures, profile photos and simple graphics when you already have the subject on a transparent background.
- Drop a transparent PNG cut-out onto the page.

- Drag, zoom, rotate or flip the subject into position.
- Click Download image to save the result.
This tool does not cut a subject out of a normal photo for you. If your picture has no transparent area, you will not see the new background behind it. Everything runs in your browser and nothing is uploaded.
Frequently asked questions
Why can't I see the new background?
The image needs a transparent area. Use a PNG cut-out where the background is already removed, otherwise the original picture covers the new one.
Can I use my own photo as the background?
Yes. Switch the background type to Custom Photo, choose the picture, then position the subject over it.
Does it upload my images?
No. The editing is done locally in your browser, and your files stay on your device.
